At Homeowners, we treat our employees like family, and want to make sure that we take care of your families as well. We offer a wide variety of benefits and resources for pregnancies and families. Please see below for an overview. As always, don't hesitate to reach out to HR@homeownersfg.com with additional questions.
You can earn up to 60% of your annual salary for the time you are disabled and recovering from delivery. With the one-week elimination period required by the insurance company, this generally means you receive 5 weeks of disability for vaginal delivery, and 7 weeks of disability for cesarean delivery. Additional details can be found here.
You MUST enroll in the Short-Term Disability benefits prior to becoming pregnant. Pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition and you will not be able to use the disability benefit if you purchase it while already pregnant.
Based on the state you reside in; you may be eligible for additional disability or leave benefits. Please reach out to HR at HR@homeownersfg.com for more information.
Based on your eligibility, you may qualify for a Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) or General Leave of Absence. This means you can get up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave while recovering from delivery and bonding with your child. Paperwork will need to be completed by your health care provider.
If you plan on delivering in a hospital, you can take advantage of the Hospital Indemnity Plan. Pre-existing conditions are waived for this plan, meaning you can be pregnant and enroll in this benefit. You can earn $1,150+ for your hospital delivery for being admitted to the hospital in a room, and $150 per day after. For example, if you deliver and spend 2 nights in the hospital, you are eligible to receive up to $1,450. Additional details can be found here.
During your recovery from delivery, you are able, but not required to, take any Paid time Off, Vacation, or Paid Sick Leave available to you.
